Sterling Pingree

Sterling Pingree was born and raised in Kingfield, Maine and is a graduate of Mt. Abram High School. He was a 4- year lettermen in basketball and all-conference baseball player for the Roadrunners. Sterling attended the New England School of Communications at Husson to concentrate on sports journalism. His first broadcast was supposed to only last a couple of possessions doing play-by-play of Mt. Abram girl’s basketball on WKTJ-Farmington. As luck would have it, for Sterling maybe not anybody else, the 3rd quarter did not feature one stoppage of play, allowing him to do the entire quarter alone. This was the first of over 100 games he broadcast in the next 4 years at NESCom, along with co-hosting This Week in Sports on WHSN, his time was capped off by the winning the schools “Outstanding Sports Journalism” award in 2008. After a run as a political campaign manager, Sterling returned to Bangor to get his MBA at Husson in 2012. Sterling works at Husson University currently as the Assistant Director of Student Activitie. He is an avid golfer and has been a member of Bangor Municipal Golf Course since 2010.
